INTERSECTION Radio was a project co-programmed by various artists with the support of apo33. With this project/broadcast, we wanted to explore the question of the diffusion of sound on the Internet. This exploration was organised in different times and following different modes. First come a time of presentation, installation : we proposed to some artists that they create one or several pieces, with no limit in duration. The various programmers question their own network of artists to whom they...

An evocative collage of sound-recordings made during 2009 by UK based sound-artist, filmmaker, and designer The Travelling Mongoose. A multitracked journey through natural and artificial sonic environments, the juxtapositions produce a strange narrative through subtle incongruities, with compositional sense of movement and reflection. "Singin' in The" is an almost theatrical, "mood" piece of sound-art, containing a very quiet Surrealist edge, creating an audio picture of the...

In July of 2001, while conducting research for a book project, I followed the Tour de France for a few weeks. On the 21st, for better or worse, I started recording myself while stuck in traffic. Armed with my Minidisc, I attempted to catch up with the Tour in the Pyrenees. I also recorded a portion of the next day's stage to the mountain top finish at Luz-Ardiden. I've included a rough transcription below. The first sixteen minutes are banal. Late in the file, while waiting for the race, I meet...

In 2001, while visiting Brugges, Belgium, I recorded these church bells. The ringing seemed to come from all corners of the city. The mic (a Sony) was placed out the third-floor window of where I was staying. Recorded straight onto a Sharp minidisc. The ringing lasted about eight minutes. This is a 320kbps mp3; I've also posted an aiff.
